You may verify, correct, or remove your personal information through your website specific registration, through your profile or through your MyAncestorHeart account, where applicable.

When you become a registered user, some of your personal information may be updated only by making changes to your registeration records. Such changes must be mabe by contacting us and requesting the change. If you experience problems with modifying or updating your personal information, you can contact us by sending an e-mail. Upon receiving your request, we will do all we can to provide you with a response within 15 working days. If we cannot honor your request within this period or cannot provide you access to the requested information, we will explain why.

You grant us unrestricted, royalty-free, worldwide, perpetual license to any copyright, author's right, database right, or similar right that you may hold in your contributed data, and you also grant us the right to creat derivative works by combining your data with that of other contributors, unless otherwise indicated.

COLLABORATION WITH OTHERS. You acknowledge that a primary purpose of this site is to enable collaboration between users of MyAncestorsHeart site who wish to expand their knowledge of their own ancestral lines. You acknowledge that we may utilize genealogical data that you submit relating to deceased persons and discussions pertaining to deceased persons for the purpose of collaborating with other individuals and organizations in other to create a global common pedigree for the purpose of increasing participation in family history and preserving the record of the world. You acknowledge that collaboration between multiple individuals and organizations allows us to obtain additional data that may be provided freely to all registered users of this site, thus allowing everyone to extend their ancestral lines.

This site includes a discussion feature where individuals can comment regarding a particular deceased individual and provide details regarding that individual. We reserve the right to reuse the discussion information and publish it to others in an effort to help resolve open issues posed or to help educate others. We request you be selective in the information you include in your online discussions, communicating instead through email or other sources where personal contact or other information is being provided. You acknowledge that any items that you submit through the discussion feature will be viewable by anyone able to access the site. The discussion feature is intended to help collaboration efforts, to coordinate the correction of errors and to facilitate additional research with other interested users. The discussion feature may not be used for reasons irrelevant to the deceased individual being discussed; to include information that might harm or embarass living relatives; or that includes offensive or abusive language or content. Disagreements regarding facts pertaining to the individual are likely to occur, and such disagreements should be set out in clear terms based on the facts and citing sources where possible without resorting to abrupt, insulting or unkind language or comments. The discussion feature may not be used to provide links to external Web pages with inappropriate content (although links to related information regarding the deceased individual is appropriate) or in order to solicit business or research services. We reserve the right to delete or edit content provided in the discussion feature in our sole and absolute discretion and to deny users access to this feature for any or no reason.

RIGHT TO SUBMIT. Whenever you submit data to this site, you are affirming that you have the legal right to contribute that data to this site and grant us the rights set out in this Agreement. You accept legal responsibility for our using your contributed data based on your information. You are solely responsible for all content that you contribute, submit and post to this site.

CODE OF CONDUCT. LEGAL STATUS AND JURISDICTION. You understand that this Agreement is governed by the laws of Abia State of Federal Repubic of Nigeria without regard to its principles on conflict of laws. You agree that any legal action you bring against us shall be brought in either the state or federal courts located in Aba, Abia State of Federal Republic of Nigeria, and you hereby consent and submit to the personal jurisdiction of such courts for the purposes of litigating any such action. You agree to this regardless of your location or any inconvenience to you.

SEVERABILITY. If any provision of this Agreement is found to be unlawful, void, or unenforceable in whole or in part, the remaining provisions shall be unaffected, unless we determine that the invalid or unenforceable provision is an essential term of this Agreement, in which case we may at our sole discretion amend this Agreement.

DATA PROTECTION. If you are located outside the Federal Republic of Nigeria, you consent to the processing in the Federal Repubic of Nigeria of any personal data that you submit or as otherwise as we may choose. You also agree to comply with all applicable laws regarding the transmission of data to or from the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the country in which you reside.

LIMITATION OF LIABILITY. Neither shall we be liable for direct, indirect, punitive, special, consequential or other damages resulting from your use of, or your inability to use, this site, the materials in this site, or any Web linked to from this site, including, but not limited to, lost profits, business interruption, and loss of programs or data on your information handling system.
